Who We Are
The Armenian Relief Society — known in Armenian as Հայ Օգնութեան Միութիւն (HOM) — is the largest Armenian women's organization in the world. Founded in 1910 in New York City, the ARS has spent over a century providing humanitarian aid, cultural programming, and community support to Armenians across the globe.
With over 400 chapters in more than 30 countries, the ARS is a cornerstone of Armenian diaspora life. In Niagara, our chapter carries on this proud tradition — supporting local families, preserving Armenian culture, and connecting our community to the broader Armenian world.

Founded in New York
The ARS is established in New York City by a group of Armenian women determined to provide relief to Armenians suffering under Ottoman rule.
Genocide Relief
ARS members mobilize to provide critical relief to Armenian Genocide survivors, establishing orphanages and refugee camps across the Middle East.
Global Expansion
The ARS expands to over 200 chapters worldwide, becoming the largest Armenian women's organization and a pillar of diaspora community life.
Earthquake Response
Following the devastating Spitak earthquake, the ARS leads one of the largest Armenian diaspora relief efforts in history, raising millions for survivors.
Artsakh Support
